After careful consideration, our Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to shut down A Workshop of Our Own. This decision comes after a much needed reevaluation of our resources and long‑term sustainability.

We are incredibly grateful to the donors, volunteers, and community members who believed in the mission of WOO and have dedicated their time and resources over these past 9 years. Because of you all, we created and maintained this community, forming incredibly meaningful relationships and sharing skills that will endure beyond WOO’s closure.

While this news marks the end of our brick-and-mortar, we will be working with partner organizations to continue to support women and nonbinary makers into the future.
